New Album, New Sunburn
Hey Guys,
My new album - Roots Run Deep-A Collection of Hymns- came out last week, i hope many of you are enjoying the new tunes! I promised my wife i'd do a much better job this time around of staying current with the blog's and news updates. O.K... so what to talk about.. well i received my first sun burn of 2008, oh the luxury of having some days off in sunny San Clemente.. not the norm though.. ever since the birth of our son last august, even the days off are a ton of work... all good though.. i'll try and keep all you fans out there in the know on the developments of our little one as he progresses... this past week he started crawling..now it's off to the races.. just yesterday i turned my back for a second while he was chillin' out on the carpet, and sure enough, he was off in another room causing trouble... gotta love it! on another note (no punn intended).. i got to hang with the lead singer of the band Mainstay the other night.. we were playing a brown-bag event at KSBJ in Houstin, Tx... Justin and I played some acoustic stuff to an awesome crowd of 800 or so in a parking lot of a chik-fil-a restaurant... it was awesome... anywho, his music is great if you're not hip to it.. he's a strong writer, great singer, and best of all, he's humble! (www.myspace.com/mainstay) here's a few pics from the event.. and lastly, thanks to all of you who've sent encouraging words through the website and myspace.. it's great to hear the stories on this end and to know that something as simple as a song on a c.d. can have the power to change a day and even a life!!!! keep sending 'em and keep spreading the word about the new record.... Just heard your version of Come Thou Fount on KTIS in Minn. MN - came home and put it on my playlist. It's one of my favorite songs and your version is beautiful! Definitely will be picking up the Roots Run Deep CD - I grew up with all those songs and now have a greater appreciation for them, and am looking forward to playing the CD in our home!
